Information Resources - Technology Project Management - Moves

The Technology Project Management team provides technical support for departments that change locations or come to the CUMC campus. We ensure that your computers, printers, and other equipment requiring network connectivity will work properly when you move to a different area.

Technology Project Management works in conjunction with CUMC's Facilities department and the Core Resources network group for scheduled moves. Please don't hesitate to contact us regardless of the number of systems that require connection.

Here are some basic guidelines to keep in mind when planning a move:

  • Try to contact us a month or more prior to your move date.
  • Do not assume that a data port at a location means that network connectivity can be provided.
The number of available network connections depends on available ports in the network equipment managed by Core. We verify port availability in advance, and will advise you of any options if current networking equipment cannot provide the number of connections you request.
  • Let us handle network registration and configuration of your systems.
Even if your staff originally set up connectivity for a device, the network may have different requirements at your new location regardless of how far you are moving.

Technology Project Management also arranges IDX printing setup via DSL VPN for remote offices.
