Adding or Viewing Your Designates

A Designate has access to create, make changes and view your Oracle Calendar. Others with CUMC accounts may be able to view some events in your calendar, depending on the Viewing access. To change Viewing access, follow the instructions below but select the Viewing tab at the top of the Access Rights window, rather than the Designate tab; and set the Designate rights to your preferences for the Default: Any unlisted person option.

  1. After signing in to Oracle Calendar on the upgraded node (see instructions above for Signing In), select Tools at the top of the Oracle Calendar window and then Access Rights. It does not matter if you are at your Agenda or In Tray when you open the Access Rights window, as long as you have signed in to Oracle Calendar after the upgrade.
  2. You will see any Designates listed in the large white field at the bottom of this window. To view their Access Rights you will have to highlight the individual name by clicking right on the name.

  4. If you need to add a Designate, type their full name into the blank field in the middle of the Access Rights window as shown below, then click on the green check mark to the right so Oracle Calendar can find them. If the person is found, their name will then appear listed in the field below. If they cannot be found, you may have misspelled their name or they may not have an Oracle Calendar account.

  5. Designate Access Rights

  6. Once you have added a Designate, you will need to highlight their name in the bottom field and check off the Full Designate Rights box as shown above in Figure 1. We do not recommend selecting limited access rights as many people have later run into problems with their Designate's access if they do not have Full Rights.

Please note that you are the only person who can add Designates and assign access rights to your Oracle Calendar information. This requires that you be signed on to Oracle Calendar, CUbhis technicians are not able to do this for you. For security reasons you must not give out any of your passwords to CUMC related programs.
